One workforce management platform in place of the spreadsheet stack
Rosters in Excel, compliance in folders, comms in WhatsApp, timesheets on paper. Humanz replaces the stack with one platform where the pieces already work together.
One record, keyed once
Every worker exists once, in one system. A change lands everywhere it matters instead of being re-keyed five times with errors compounding.
Answers without phone calls
Who's on site, who's compliant, who confirmed tomorrow, live answers on one screen, not a morning of ringing around.
Planned, worked and paid, reconciled
The roster, the timesheet and payroll draw from the same approved record, so margin stops leaking between them and Fair Work record-keeping stands up.
What you get with the Humanz workforce management platform
Every module sits on one worker record, and every module is included. Switch each one on when your team is ready.
Rostering and scheduling
Multi-site rosters with employees, subcontractors and labour hire on one schedule.
Rostering software →Timesheets and approval
Hours prefilled from the roster, approved by a supervisor and handed to payroll.
The timesheet approval workflow →Fatigue management
Named policies with shift, rest and rolling-hour limits, checked at every allocation.
Fatigue management software →Subcontractor management
ABN, licence and insurance records with expiry alerts, beside employee profiles.
Subcontractor management software →Tickets and inductions
Expiry dates held on the worker record and checked at booking.
Tracking qualifications and inductions →Digital forms
Prestarts, inductions and incident reports completed on the phone and stored with timestamps.
Digital forms for field teams →Mobilisation
Flights, accommodation and travel days tied to the roster.
Workforce mobilisation software →Messaging
Job-linked messages with read receipts and retained history.
In-app messaging for field teams →Leave management
Requests approved in the app and shown on the roster, while balances stay in payroll.
Choosing leave management software →Asset allocation
Plant and vehicles allocated beside the people using them.
Asset tracking for field teams →Analytics
Reporting drawn from the roster, timesheet and compliance data the platform already holds.
Workforce analytics for field operations →
Your clients and sites, structured once, used everywhere
Every client carries its own sites, and every site its own defaults: day and night shift times, mobilisation requirements, time items, checklists and documents. Set the structure up once and every roster, timesheet and report inherits it.
- Sites across states under each client, with archiving
- Default day and night shift times set per site
- Mobilisation, time items, checklists and POs per client

Timesheets that arrive approved, not just submitted
Submitted hours land in an approval queue, filterable by client, site and date, where supervisors bulk-approve the clean ones, reject the wrong ones, and chase signatures without leaving the screen. Payroll receives reviewed data with the audit trail attached.
- One queue for everything awaiting approval
- Bulk approve, reject, resend and PDF export
- Signatures and attachments carried on each timesheet

Fatigue rules with real numbers behind them
Build named fatigue policies, a FIFO policy, a residential policy, each with hard limits: maximum shift length, minimum breaks between shifts, consecutive day and night caps, and rolling hour ceilings across 7 to 28 days. The scheduler checks every allocation against them.
- Separate policies per workforce type, client or site
- Consecutive-shift and rest-break limits enforced
- Rolling hour caps across 7, 14, 21 and 28 days

A mobile app your crews actually use
Mobile workforce management software only works if crews open it. Timesheets, roster, jobs, leave requests and documents live under one My Work menu, and booking requests and updates arrive as notifications: accept a job, confirm a shift or submit hours from the phone already in a worker's pocket.
- Roster, timesheets, jobs and library in one menu
- Booking requests answered with one tap
- Notifications workers actually see and action

Workforce management software built and supported in Australia
Humanz was founded in 2019 and is built and supported in Australia, around the obligations local operators actually face.
Fair Work & awards
Time and attendance records, rest periods and shift entitlements handled with audit-ready trails.
WHS & fatigue
Fatigue risk managed systematically inside the roster, not in a policy document nobody opens.
Hundreds of Australian businesses
Mining services, construction, trades, drilling and civil works teams run their operations on Humanz.

Getting started is simple
We support each step and move at your pace, see our approach for the full rollout picture.
Map your operation
Sites, crews, clients, rules. We configure Humanz around how you already work, not the other way round.
Roll out in phases
Scheduler and mobile app first, then timesheets, then forms, each step lands when your team is ready.
Run everything in one place
One platform from roster to payroll-ready timesheets, with analytics improving every planning cycle.
Works with what you already run
Humanz does the workforce half and hands clean data to the systems either side of it.
Xero
Approved hours flow into Xero through a two-way API rather than a file export, so a correction on either side keeps both systems in step.
How the Xero connection works →Microsoft single sign-on
Single sign-on covers the web app and the mobile app, so the field crew, not just the office, signs in with the accounts IT already controls.
What IT will want to know →Your payroll system
Humanz is deliberately not a payroll engine. Whatever calculates your pay, it receives accurate, approved time data with the audit trail attached.
The payroll handover in detail →Frequently asked questions
What is workforce management software?
Workforce management (WFM) software plans and runs the operational side of your workforce: rostering and scheduling, time and attendance, compliance, communication and analytics. It's distinct from HR software, which manages the employment relationship, contracts, performance and payroll administration. The two complement each other.
Who is Humanz built for?
Australian businesses with field, site or shift-based workforces, construction, mining services, trades, drilling, civil, logistics and manufacturing among them. If your team works away from a desk and your roster changes daily, Humanz was built for you.
Is Humanz employee management software?
Yes, for the operational side of managing employees. Humanz is an employee management system for field businesses: it rosters staff, holds tickets and inductions, collects and approves timesheets and keeps the records behind each shift, for employees, subcontractors and labour hire alike. It is not an HR suite: contracts, performance reviews and pay stay in your HR and payroll systems.
What is the difference between rostering software and a workforce management platform?
Rostering software builds and publishes the roster, and the better products check tickets and fatigue limits as shifts are placed. A workforce management platform also runs what happens after the roster: timesheets prefilled from the rostered shift, supervisor approval, the handover to payroll, site forms and job-linked messages. Humanz is the second kind, with the roster at its centre.
Can Humanz manage subcontractors and labour hire alongside employees?
Yes. Employees, subcontractors and labour hire sit in the same roster, each with their own compliance profile, so coordinators book whoever is available and qualified from one view. Subbie hours run through the same timesheet and approval flow, keeping one clean record across the whole blended crew.
Does Humanz replace our payroll or HR system?
No, it feeds them. Humanz produces accurate, approved time data that flows to payroll, and handles operational records like onboarding documents and credentials. Your payroll engine and HRIS keep doing what they do best, with far better data.
Does Humanz integrate with Xero?
Yes, through a two-way API integration rather than a file export, so approved hours flow into Xero and the data stays in step both ways. That matters because a one-way export is only ever a snapshot: the moment something is corrected on either side, the two systems disagree until someone reconciles them by hand.
Is there a mobile app for workers?
Yes. The Humanz mobile app puts each worker's roster, timesheets, jobs and documents under one My Work menu, with booking requests and updates arriving as notifications. Workers accept jobs, confirm shifts and submit hours from the phone already in their pocket, so nothing extra needs to be rolled out on site.
Can our team sign in with their Microsoft accounts?
Yes. Humanz supports Microsoft single sign-on across both the web app and the mobile app, so crews and coordinators use the same credentials they already have and your IT team keeps access control in one place. Removing someone's Microsoft account removes their Humanz access with it.
How long does implementation take?
An indicative rollout runs about 11 weeks in phases, configuration and master data first, then the scheduler and mobile app, then timesheets and forms. The weeks are support checkpoints rather than a rigid clock, and the pace flexes to your business.
Do we have to adopt every module at once?
No, most businesses roll out in phases. The scheduler and mobile app usually land first, timesheets follow once rosters are humming, and forms come after that. Every module is included, and you switch each one on when your team is ready.
Is our data hosted in Australia and supported locally?
Yes. Humanz data is hosted in Australia, in Sydney, and support is Australian-based, so you talk to the team that builds the product rather than an offshore ticket queue.

Who it's for, and who it isn't
No platform suits everyone, and pretending otherwise wastes your evaluation time. The honest split:
Built for
- Field operations across mining services, civil, construction, drilling, trades and transport
- Blended crews of employees, subcontractors and labour hire on the same jobs
- Multi-site businesses that have outgrown the spreadsheet-and-phone-calls stack
- Operations where compliance (tickets, inductions and fatigue) has to gate the roster
Honestly, not for
- Single-site retail and hospitality rosters. Deputy and Tanda are built for exactly that.
- Teams shopping for a full HR suite with performance reviews and payroll in one. That is a different product.
- Anyone who wants software to calculate pay. Humanz feeds payroll; it never runs it.
